Linda Fihelly retired from the Federal Government after a 36-year career as a personnel management/occupational specialist.  She received a Director’s Award for Superior Accomplishment while at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Linda helped to establish and served in leadership roles in several local women’s organizations in the 1970s and 1980s.  She was instrumental in developing the Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County (a shelter for battered women and their children) and served on its Board of Directors for many years; she was named a life member in appreciation for her contributions.  Her work as a women’s rights advocate was recognized in the 1994 book Women of Achievement in Prince George’s County History.

Having served CWI in the past as vice president for membership and treasurer, Linda is honored to be Co-Vice President for Membership this year.  She is also active on the boards of the Women’s Action Coalition of Prince George’s County and the Southern Prince George’s Business and Professional Women.  She serves on the Maryland State Council of the National Organization for Women and the planning committee for the annual Prince George’s County Women’s Empowerment Conference, among her other activities.
